Breathing Life into RPL

This entertaining and conceptually rich workshop is a must for trainers and assessors wanting to enhance their RPL techniques. Offering an effective RPL pathway for workers entering training is mandatory for all RTOs receiving government funding. It is also good educational practice.  This workshop seeks to breathe life into RPL practice by enhancing teachers’ enjoyment, confidence and skills in developing RPL processes for their students. Participants will experience a tour of a dynamic framework for understanding RPL and integrating it in to teaching and assessment practices.

This workshop is specifically designed for trainers and assessors who want to develop a robust, fast track RPL process for their students. It will give a framework for clustering competencies, knowledge, generating evidence and making professional judgements that meet audit requirements, but motivate and entuse students in discovering and demonstrating their skills and knowledge.

Setting professional boundaries in the workplace

Relationships in the the workplace are constantly changing. This can happen slowly over time or quite quickly with promotions and position changes. One minute you are a peer; next you are the supervior. Can you still be friends?  This session looks at how to maintain professional and personal relationships when job roles change. This session will give you strategies to deal with issues of person friendship, percieved favouritism and bias when things change. How to motivate and get the best from your team.

Taking control of knowledge

Take control of the essential knowledge in competency standards. This workshop will show you how to extract, classify and create consolidated bodies of knowledge from competency standards. The body of knowledge that informs the application of skills for an occupation can get lost in the fragmented, repetitive, high level descriptions of essential knowledge that is embedded throughout Units of Competency. Through the use of Excel and relational databases such as FilemakerPro this workshop help you will create a coherent body of knowledge that can streamline your training and assessment.

This workshop provides an overview of the nine personality types of the Enneagram.  Participants are assisted in understanding the theory and practical implications of the Enneagram and how this relates to the relationship with ourselves and with others.
